Global Market Insights: Japan and the Republic of Korea

Did you know, as an economy, the Republic of Korea has grown rapidly to become the world’s 10th largest in 2020?

AustCham Korea is pleased to support the Export Council of Australia in hosting Part Six of their Global Market Insights series, focusing on the market opportunities in Japan and the Republic of Korea.

The Republic of Korea is a significant market for Australian businesses. Underpinned by the Korea Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA), two-way trade of goods and services is valued at $38.9 billion in 2019-20.

Japan is Australia’s third largest trading partner of goods and services in 2019-20. Around 95 per cent of eligible exports enter Japan under the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA).

Our expert panel from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and TradeAustralian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), Export Council of Australia and private sector will share insights on the opportunities and risks of doing business in Japan and the Republic of Korea.
