AustCham Korea is pleased to invite you to join its upcoming NextGen webinar, ‘Working to advance Australia’s interests: the life of an Aussie diplomat’ with the Deputy Head of Mission (DHOM) at the Australian Embassy in Seoul, Ian McConville.

This Q&A session will aim to provide insights into Mr McConville’s role as the DHOM, his professional history, thoughts on the Australia-Korea relationship and cultural experiences living in Seoul, South Korea. The webinar will be conducted via Zoom video conferencing and will provide a platform for attendees to ask questions prior to and during the session.

Speaker Introduction:

Mr Ian McConville is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). He has served overseas as High Commissioner to Nigeria and High Commissioner to Mauritius. He also has had postings at the Australian Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Geneva (Deputy Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament), Cambodia and Pakistan.

Mr McConville holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Arts from Monash University and is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
