AustCham Korea Host Northern Territory Government Delegation for Business Roundtable Discussion

This week, a Northern Territory government delegation, led by Deputy Chief Minister, Nicole Manison, arrived in South Korea to meet with business, industry and government representatives, including those from the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AustCham Korea).

The aim of the visit was to re-establish strong relationships with potential investors interested in critical minerals developments and the Territory’s energy sector. The delegation not only held meetings with potential investors, but also facilitated networking events to showcase the opportunities in the Northern Territory.

Yesterday, the delegation attended a critical minerals industry roundtable hosted by the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea, which was attended by approximately 35 senior business and government representatives.

Regarding the roundtable discussion and delegation to Korea, Deputy Chief Minister Nicole Manison stated, “This is about bringing new business to the Territory and growing our economy to $40 billion by 2030, while playing a major role in the world’s energy transition.”

Korea continues to be a significant trading partner for the Northern Territory. Given its strong focus on technological advancement, there is a high degree of confidence that this partnership can thrive in the years to come.

The Chamber looks forward to working with the Northern Territory Government to further promote trade and investment opportunities, especially with regard to the Territory’s ability to supply critical minerals for renewable energy, battery storage and high-tech industries.

A special thanks to the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) Seoul and the Grand Hyatt Seoul for their assistance in organising a highly successful event.
