AustCham Korea Hosts ACT for Exclusive Business Roundtable Discussion

On Monday, April 17, the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea hosted an exclusive business roundtable discussion between Andrew Barr MLA, Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), ACT delegates and senior business leaders based in South Korea.

Moderated by the Chamber’s Chair, Mr Ross Gregory, and hosted at the Andaz Seoul Gangnam, the event provided the 25 business and government representatives with a platform to discuss opportunities for further trade, tourism and investment between the ACT and Korea.

Having identified Korea as a key market in its International Engagement Strategy, the ACT government was in Korea to build investment, infrastructure and industry relationships to support the Territory’s trade and climate action objectives.

With a particular focus on the electrification of the territory, the trade mission held meetings with LG, H2 Korea, Samsung, Hyundai, Panasonic, AustCham Korea and other relevant businesses to discuss the implementation of their net-zero emissions by 2045 plan.

Prior to the roundtable discussion, senior representatives from the Chamber met privately with the Chief Minister and his team to discuss the potential for increased cross-border engagements between the ACT and Korea.
