Western Australia Government Hosts Business Network Reception for Premier of Western Australia With AustCham Korea

On Monday, January 30, the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea, along with the Government of Western Australia office in Korea, hosted the Premier of Western Australia, the Hon Mark McGowan BA LLB MLA, for a Business Networking Reception.

Emceed by the Chamber’s Chair, Mr Ross Gregory, the exclusive event was attended by over 100 guests, including the Australian Ambassador, H.E. Catherine Raper, AustCham Korea’s Gold & Silver Sponsors, government representatives and VIP guests.

Premier McGowan is currently visiting the Republic of Korea and Japan on his first trip to Asia since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. The focus of this trip is promoting investment, particularly around hydrogen, critical minerals, batteries, downstream processing, medical research, defence, agri-food and agri-business, with emphasis on 30 renewable hydrogen projects in the region.

The Premier was also delighted to highlight WA’s wheat, meat and wine, which were incorporated into the event’s 5-star menu. A special thank you to AustCham Korea member MIA TRADING, who kindly provided the delicious lamb for the event.

With a strong list of representatives from across the WA-Korea bilateral relationship in attendance, AustCham Korea would like to extend its congratulations to the Government of Western Australia team for an incredibly successful event. The Chamber looks forward to seeing the growth of business-to-business and people-to-people links that come from this event.
