AustCham Korea Team Successfully Completes 2022 Busan to Seoul Charity Bike Ride

Led by the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea, Team Australia participated in the 2022 Korea Charity Ride on the weekend of the 18th and 19th of June, 2022.

This ride was a challenging cycle from Busan to Seoul, a total of 528 km, in 48 hours (Day 1 – 320 km, Day 2 – 221 km). Team Australia was not only able to successfully complete the ride in 2 days, but was also able to raise more than 25 million KRW to be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Ronald McDonald Houses are a home away from home that provide comfort, support and resources to families who travel far from home for the medical care of their child. All proceeds collected from this year’s ride will go towards building a second Ronald McDonald house in Seoul, following the first house successfully completed at Yangsan Busan National University Hospital in 2019.

Riding on team Australia was Felix Busch, General Manager at the Millennium Hilton Seoul, Sean Sutton, former CEO of Schindler Elevator Korea, Mark Meaney, General Manager at the Conrad Seoul, and Daniel Billing, Defense Science and Technology Counsellor at the Australian Embassy in Korea.

“I am honored to have taken on this exciting challenge on behalf of Hilton, all the more meaningful, thanks to the kind support of our guests and partners,” said Felix Busch.

AustCham would like to thank and acknowledge the following members and sponsors for their support of the Charity Ride: Eastpoint Partners Limited, Millennium Hilton Seoul, IFC Seoul, Chillhops Brewing Co., Conrad Seoul, Doubletree and Hilton Garden Inn.
