AustCham Korea Briefing to Griffith University Students for GABI Program 2021

On Friday, November 5, 2021, AustCham Korea’s Executive Director, Rowan Petz, provided a briefing to Griffith University students embarking on their Griffith Asia Business Internships (GABI) program, and touched on important topics regarding working and interning in Korea, tips for becoming a successful professional in Korea, and the bilateral relations between Australia and Korea and how AustCham Korea assists in advancing these relations.

AustCham Korea have been a proud supporter of Griffith University’s GABI program for the past few years and as part of the program commencing were thrilled to present to the students at their 2021 Korea Country Orientation via Microsoft Teams.

As part of the program, students will gain industry experience while undertaking a project/tasks in an international professional setting and receive 20 credit points toward their program of study in Australia. By facilitating this annual placement, Griffith hopes to support people to people linkages between South Korea and Australia and strengthen collaborative opportunities.

While it is unfortunate that most of the interns were unable to travel to their host countries to complete their internships, we are excited to see how the students use the remote internships as a challenge and learning opportunity.

Special thanks to all the AustCham member companies, including: JOST & Co, TIQ, ANZ, APLN, Blueleaf Energy, The Sool Company, who are involved in this year’s program.

As always, its a pleasure for AustCham Korea to support the program and connect with dedicated, enthusiastic students as they embark on their journey!
