AustCham Korea is aware of changes announced to the exemption criteria for travel from Australia for citizens ordinarily residing overseas.

The changes are due to come into effect from 11 August 2021. We are seeking further clarification from the Australian Government on the exact nature of the changes, including the process for obtaining an exemption. At this stage, it appears that the exemption criteria remains in place for Australians that intend to depart Australia for more than three months or need to leave for business or family emergencies.

Travel to Australia is already incredibly difficult for many of our members, friends and family, and we acknowledge the impact that these further changes may have on our members who are considering a trip back home. We will provide an update as soon as we have further details.
