ANZAC Day Dawn Service Held in Seoul

On Sunday, April 25, AustCham Korea paid their respects by attending the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the War Memorial of Korea. Following the service, AustCham members took part in a wreath-laying presentation at the Australian monument in the Role of Honour hall.

The event gave a chance for those in the Australian and New Zealand communities to show their respect to those who served and died in war and on operational service past and present.

ANZAC Day is one of Australia’s most important national occasions, marking the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. Since this year marks the 70th anniversary of one of the key battles that Australian and New Zealand forces engaged in during the Korean War in 1951, the Dawn Service was a particularly significant one – reflecting the enduring friendship between our nations.

The spirit of ANZAC, with its qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity.
