Gapyeong Scholarships Awards Ceremony

AustCham marked the 68th anniversary of the Battle of Gapyeong by attending the Commonwealth Memorial ceremony in Gapyeong on the 23rd of April.

The event honoured the brave soldiers from Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and Canada who fought alongside South Korea during the Korean War.

Joined by the Australian Ambassador, H.E James Choi, Korean war veterans and sponsors, AustCham honoured the legacy of those who fought by participating in a special ceremony by donating 10 educational scholarships valued at 3.25 million won to local middle and high school students from the Gapyeong community.

Each scholarship was donated on behalf of an AustCham Korea Gold Sponsor. AustCham would like to thank and acknowledge the following members and sponsors for their support of the scholarship program;
