Message from the

Chair of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea,

Mr Ross Gregory

Dear Members and Friends of AustCham Korea,

I welcome you to AustCham Korea, the peak representative body for the Australia-Korea business community. Our mission is firmly rooted in fostering a strong, diverse, and resilient bilateral relationship between our two nations. As Chair, I am honoured to represent AustCham Korea, supported by a highly experienced Board of Governors and an exceptional Secretariat.

The Australia-Korea relationship is a model of mutual respect, shared values, and deep economic integration. As Australia’s fourth-largest trading partner and a vital contributor to sectors such as energy, resources, education, and services, Korea plays a central role in Australia’s international trade and investment strategy. The Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA), ratified in 2014, has been instrumental in strengthening this partnership, unlocking new opportunities, and driving remarkable growth.

AustCham Korea is uniquely positioned to support and enhance this critical relationship. Representing over 110 companies across sectors including services, manufacturing, primary agriculture, energy, resources, legal, finance, tourism, and education, we act as a vital conduit for trade and investment between Australia and Korea. Our presence on the ground in Korea enables us to provide the best insights, connections, and advocacy to our members, helping them navigate the complexities of cross-border trade and investment.

We work closely with the Australian Embassy, Austrade, and State and Territory trade offices in Korea to ensure our members benefit from a coordinated and strategic approach to bilateral engagement. As a non-profit organisation, we are privileged to have the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea as our Patron, alongside two senior Australian Government representatives serving as ex-officio Governors. These partnerships underscore our commitment to representing Australian business interests at the highest level.

Each year, AustCham Korea delivers approximately 50 events and initiatives, including business forums, networking nights, seminars, delegation tours, roundtable discussions, and ministerial receptions. Through these efforts, AustCham Korea has earned a reputation as a trusted and professional organisation, consistently delivering meaningful value to our members and stakeholders.

As the Australia-Korea business landscape continues to evolve, AustCham Korea remains steadfast in its mission to be a constructive and meaningful partner in this vital bilateral relationship. We are committed to fostering new opportunities, supporting our members, and promoting a dynamic, sustainable, and mutually beneficial partnership between our two nations.

Warm regards,

Ross Gregory
