Australia–Korea Forum Highlights Battery and Clean Energy Cooperation.

On June 30, AustCham Korea Chairman Ross Gregory and Senior Advisor Jacco Zwetsloot attended the Korea–Australia Future Industry Forum in Seoul, hosted by MTN Money Today Network and supported by the Australian Embassy. Under the theme “Batteries Beyond Borders,” the forum gathered senior officials, researchers, and industry leaders to explore bilateral cooperation in battery technology, supply chains, and clean energy transition.
Key speakers included Australian Ambassador Jeff Robinson and Sam Hwang, Counsellor at the Australian Embassy, who outlined Australia’s critical role as a top supplier of lithium and other battery minerals, and Korea’s position as a global battery manufacturing leader. Korean investment in Australian projects now exceeds A$9 billion.
The event underscored opportunities for collaboration across refining, recycling, and R&D. It also highlighted government frameworks such as the Australia–Korea Critical Minerals MoU and Net Zero Partnership.
AustCham Korea thanks the organisers and looks forward to continued engagement in this vital sector.
