AustCham Korea attends Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Seminar
Shelly Lee, Project Manager at AustCham Korea, attended the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Seminar hosted by the French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) on June 18.
The seminar brought together business leaders, diplomats, and policy professionals for a timely discussion on advancing women’s representation and leadership in the workplace.
The event opened with remarks from H.E. Philippe Bertoux, French Ambassador to Korea, and FKCCI Chairman David-Pierre Jalicon, underscoring the importance of inclusive economic growth. Key presentations were delivered by Ms. Ahjung Lee from UN Women, who introduced the Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs), followed by insights from Ms. Mina Yoo, General Manager of L’Oréal Korea’s Luxe Division, and Ms. Yoon-Ju Cho, Managing Director of CEVA Logistics Korea.
Topics ranged from corporate strategies to promote gender parity to case studies on internal empowerment initiatives. A closing Q&A offered participants the chance to engage directly with speakers.
AustCham Korea remains committed to fostering diversity and inclusion across the business community and looks forward to supporting future cross-chamber dialogue on these important issues.
