AustCham Korea Hosts CSR Community Service at Seonyudo Park with Woodside Energy.
On Saturday, 31 May 2025, AustCham Korea proudly held its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental volunteering activity at Seonyudo Park, Seoul’s first ecological park and a vital urban green space. The event was generously sponsored by Gold Member Woodside Energy Korea, whose support enabled a meaningful day of community engagement and environmental care.
The initiative attracted a diverse group of participants, including members of AustCham Korea and 9 students from Korean Christian International School. Together, they contributed hands-on efforts to native tree planting and took part in ecological education sessions designed to raise awareness about urban biodiversity and sustainability challenges.
Seonyudo Park holds special significance to Seoul as a reclaimed ecological park on the site of a former water purification plant. It features unique green spaces like wetlands and ‘time gardens,’ which play an important role in the city’s environmental health and community wellbeing. The park’s transformation from industrial use to a thriving natural habitat aligns closely with AustCham Korea’s commitment to environmental improvement and sustainability as part of its CSR objectives for the year.
Participants enjoyed a rewarding day getting their hands dirty and directly contributing to the park’s ongoing restoration efforts. The event fostered a strong sense of community while underscoring the shared responsibility of corporate and citizen engagement in protecting Seoul’s natural environment.
AustCham Korea thanks Woodside Energy Korea for their generous sponsorship and support in making this day possible. The Chamber would also like to thank Bonnie’s Pizza for providing delicious pizzas for all the volunteers, helping to keep spirits high throughout the event.
This initiative exemplifies AustCham’s dedication to CSR and its active role in promoting environmental care within the Australia-Korea business community.
