AustCham Korea Connects with Key Korean Defence Companies at MADEX 2025.

On May 29, AustCham Korea CEO Rowan Petz, Deputy Director Arnold Lee, and Senior Advisor Jacco Zwetsloot visited MADEX 2025 at BEXCO in Busan, Korea’s premier maritime defence exhibition. During the event, they met with representatives from several prominent Korean firms active in Australia’s defence and technology sectors, including Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, Hanwha Ocean, HD Hyundai, LIG Nex1, Poongsan, SK Telecom, and Lockheed Martin Korea.

Discussions covered topics ranging from advanced shipbuilding and smart naval systems to AI-enabled surveillance platforms and local industry participation in Australia. Notably, Hanwha Ocean and HD Hyundai highlighted their competing bids for the Royal Australian Navy’s next-generation frigate project — a strong signal of deepening Korea–Australia defence engagement.

AustCham Korea welcomes greater trade and cooperation between the defence industries of both countries and proudly supports Korean companies already operating in or entering the Australian market through Chamber membership.
