AustCham Korea Supports Curtin University’s 2025 NCP South Korea Study & Internship Program
On Thursday, 13 February, AustCham Korea had the privilege of attending Curtin University’s 2025 New Colombo Plan (NCP) South Korea Study & Internship Program’s Student Final Presentation Day, a key initiative fostering academic collaboration, industry engagement, and long-term ties between Australia and Korea.
Held at Sejong University, the program welcomed 28 outstanding students from Curtin University’s Faculty of Humanities and Faculty of Business and Law, offering them an immersive experience that blends academic study, research, and hands-on industry placements. Backed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) under the New Colombo Plan, the six-week initiative is designed to deepen students’ understanding of Korea’s economic, cultural, and geopolitical landscape.
During the presentation, students shared insights from their internships and academic collaborations, reflecting on their engagement with industry leaders and organisations across various sectors. The event also facilitated discussions on Australia-Korea relations, career pathways, and industry collaboration, highlighting the value of cross-border knowledge exchange.
AustCham Korea was delighted to support this initiative, reaffirming our commitment to strengthening Australia-Korea business, education, and cultural ties. For those interested in learning more about this internship program—or in hosting driven, high-achieving interns from Curtin University—please reach out to Professor Jo Elfving-Hwang at joanna.elfving-hwang@curtin.edu.au or contact AustCham Korea directly.
We look forward to seeing these future leaders contribute to the growing partnership between Australia and Korea in the years ahead.
