AustCham Korea Supports Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park Restoration with CSR Initiative
On Thursday 6 November, AustCham Korea and its business community members concluded their final Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project of the year at Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park. Their efforts focused on habitat restoration, promoting a harmonious environment for both Seoul residents and the endangered Eurasian otters that occasionally appear in the area.
Located along the Han River, this park is recognised as Korea’s first ecological reserve, designed specifically to safeguard local ecosystems. The park is renowned for its accessible layout and stunning landscapes, providing a sanctuary for a variety of wildlife. Visitors can enjoy a tranquil yet educational experience, connecting with nature through outdoor activities while deepening their understanding of the local environment.
As part of the Chamber’s commitment to community improvement, volunteers focused on repairing pathways in areas susceptible to flooding and improving access for elderly and disabled visitors to ensure that everyone can fully appreciate the park’s natural beauty. Every day, many visitors come to the park to walk along these pathways, often barefoot.
AustCham Korea would like to thank EastPoint Partners, a valued Platinum member of the Chamber and the primary sponsor of this initiative, who generously donated funds to support the ongoing efforts of the Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park Foundation. This contribution will aid in preserving the park’s ecosystems and maintaining accessibility for all.
A special thank you goes to Bonny’s Pizza Pub for providing a delicious lunch that energised the volunteers, helping them to maintain high spirits and motivation throughout the day. For those who missed out, be sure to visit Bonny’s Pizza Pub in Haebangchon and enjoy their delicious offerings (Location Map).
