On Thursday, October 17, Ross Gregory, Chair of AustCham Korea, and Arnold Lee, Deputy Director, attended Rio Tinto Korea’s 2024 Korean Customer Appreciation Dinner, joined by various industry leaders and distinguished guests from across sectors.

The evening started with registration and a cocktail reception, followed by an opening video celebrating Korean culture. Steve Han, the Country Head of Rio Tinto Korea, delivered welcoming remarks, setting the tone for the event. Notable messages were then followed by the key speakers, including H.E. Jeff Robison, the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Hyo-Wook Park, Senior Vice President of POSCO, Mr. Sachin Satpute, President of Novelis Asia and Dr. Alf Barrios, Rio Tinto Executive Committee member & Chair for Korea, Japan, and China, who also provided valuable insights of his career at Rio Tinto.

The guests enjoyed an excellent dining experience, where the dinner underscored Rio Tinto’s strong partnerships with Korean businesses while also highlighting the deepening ties between Australia and South Korea. The evening concluded with a closing message from Steve Han, marking the end of another successful event.
