AustCham Korea Visits Curtin University in Perth
On September 3rd, the AustCham Korea Secretariat, including Rowan Petz, Arnold Lee, and Shelly Lee, had the pleasure of visiting Curtin University’s Bentley campus.
Joanna Elfving-Hwang, the Director of the Korea Research Centre of WA, and Parisa Izadpanahi, the Associate Professor at Curtin University, were kind enough to give the secretariat a campus tour. The Curtin School of Design and the Built Environment was impressive. It was notable how facilities were laid out to encourage creative learning with hidden spots.
During the tour, the secretariat also visited the Robinson Library, the Curtin HIVE, and the Korea Research and Engagement Centre at the Faculty of Humanities.
The Curtin HIVE (Hub for Immersive Visualisation and eResearch) is an advanced facility established by Curtin University to serve the growing demands of researchers and industry for visualisation, virtualisation and simulation capabilities in Western Australia. It was interesting to see how researchers from all disciplines used HIVE’s visualisation systems to manage and use their data more effectively and imaginatively.
AustCham Korea was thrilled to connect with our members during our time in Perth and make meaningful, one-on-one connections.
A special thanks to Joanna and Parisa for their warm hospitality and insightful tour.
