November 18, 2019 (Seoul, Korea) – CBRE Korea, a global commercial real estate service company celebrating its 20th anniversary, held its Walk for a Wish 2019 charity event in Seoul last week. In addition to participating in a walk, CBRE Korea employees volunteered time and resources to decorate study rooms and fundraise for the Guro Happy Community Child Center.

Launched in the Asia Pacific in 2010, CBRE’s annual Walk for a Wish takes place in the third week of each November as part of a wider Wellness Week initiative in which the company promotes wellbeing of the mind, body and environment through a series of internal activities. Walk for a Wish involves 2,500 employees, clients and other stakeholders from over 22 countries in the region including Australia, China, Singapore and Hong Kong. The event, which marks its 10th anniversary this year, has raised over US $2 million for local communities.

This year, employees of CBRE Korea held a charity bazaar on November 13 and 14 which raised about 3 million won for the Guro Happy Community Child Center in Guro-gu, Seoul. In addition, on November 15, 65 employees visited the center to donate the proceeds and to hang new wallpaper in study rooms. They also provided furniture, computers, clothes and toys for the children.

Don Lim, Managing Director of CBRE Korea, said, “Through the sincere participation of our employees, CBRE makes a positive contribution to the local community through Walk for a Wish every year. Our goal this year was for children to spend time in a more comfortable environment. CBRE will continue our social contribution activities as we maintain leadership in community development and sharing.”
