AustCham Korea’s Energy & Resources Sub-Committee

On Monday the 11th of March, AustCham’s newly established Energy & Resources Sub-Committee held a Business Reception with the South Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Hon David Ridgway MLC, at The Shilla Hotel.

Attracting over 40 guests from various business sectors, the reception was a great opportunity for the visiting Minister to update the Chamber on South Australia’s hydrogen and renewable energy projects, while facilitating a broader discussion amongst attendees.

Since the release of the South Australian Hydrogen Roadmap in 2017, the South Australian Government has been highly engaged in the development of the hydrogen economy to harness its high penetration of wind and solar renewable energy (approximately 48% in 2017-18).

In 2018, South Australia co-invested over A$17 million in grants to four hydrogen production projects at various stages of the development pipeline. South Australia also collaborated at the National level with sponsorship of the 2018 CSIRO National Roadmap and as a key contributor to the development of the National Hydrogen Strategy.

The Chamber would like to thank the Minister, Austrade and all those who attended the Energy & Resources Sub-Committee for its first event for the year.
