NextGen: Mentors Night is an informal Q&A night aimed at connecting Australian and foreign students, recent graduates and young professionals to network, engage and gain advice from some of the most influential members in the Australia-Korea community.

MC’ed by Commissioner of Trade & Investment Queensland, Daniel Kim, our upcoming NextGen: Mentors night will feature Australian Ambassador to Korea, HE James Choi, Country Manager of Woodside Energy Korea, Craig Pasch and Director & Korea Branch Representative of IFM Investors Korea, Kelly Ki Jeong Lee.

 

주한 호주상공회의소에서 3번째로 개최하는 Next Gen: Mentors Night는 CSR activity의 일환으로 진행하는 행사로써 Professional Seniors를 멘토로, University Students/ Young employees를 멘티로 초청하여 각기 전문 분야의 경험들을 들어보고 open discussion 방식으로 쉐어하는 자리입니다. 금번에는 주한 호주상공회의소의 Patron이자 주한 호주대사관의 대사님이신 James Choi를 비롯하여 호주의 No.1 에너지 회사인 Woodside Energy 한국 지사장인 Craig Pasch와 구 Samsung Life Insurance의 General Manager 이자 현 IFM Investors의 Director 인 Kelly Lee를 초청하여 정부, 에너지, 금융 분야의 커리어 플랜에 관해 자유롭게 들어보고 토론하고자 합니다.

MENTORS INFORMATION

Mr James Choi is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). He has served overseas as Ambassador to Denmark, with earlier postings at the Australian Permanent Mission to the United Nations, New York and at the Australian Embassy, Seoul.

In Canberra, Mr Choi has held a variety of positions in DFAT, including Assistant Secretary of the Consular Operations Branch. He was seconded to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as Senior Adviser, Asia and has also been Senior Adviser in the Office of the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Mr Choi holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney. He commenced his appointment in December 2016.


Kelly is responsible for the firm’s Investor Relations within Korea.  Kelly has more than 17 years’ experience in the private sector and international development spanning Asia, Africa, and Europe.  She has worked in the life insurance, commercial banking, and asset management industry, as well as the UN system.

Prior to joining IFM Investors, Kelly was General Manager at Samsung Life Insurance where she worked for almost 10 years.  She was involved in the IPO of Samsung Life and worked in the Investor Relations team since its listing on the KRX in 2010, where she served domestic and foreign institutional investors and sell-side analysts.

Prior to Samsung Life she worked at UNDP Kenya for 2 years where she was responsible for capital markets development initiatives in Africa and capacity building for Kenya’s Capital Markets Authority and the Nairobi Stock Exchange.  Prior to this, she was Investor Relations Officer at Shinhan Financial Group for 4 years. Kelly holds a BA in Western History (Korea University), an MBA from INSEAD, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.


Craig Pasch is Woodside’s Country Manager and Chief Representative for Korea. Woodside is Australia’s largest independent oil and gas company. Before his current appointment, his previous roles at Woodside have included Manager of Government and Media Relations, Project Manager for Organisational Effectiveness and Manager of Indigenous Affairs. Craig has a Master of Business Administration, a Graduate Diploma of Management and a Bachelor of Education.

In 2007 Craig was awarded a Vincent Fairfax Fellowship through the St James Ethics Centre. Craig has extensive international experience having worked in Australia, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi and now Korea. Additionally, Craig has been a board member of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Legal Centre and a Co-Chair on the IPIECA Indigenous Peoples Taskforce.
