AustCham Korea presents its latest DBIK Seminar: Innovation & Success with Casey Hyun on the 27th August at 6.30pm at the Australia Centre, Australian Embassy.University of Technology Sydney Graduate to multi-award winning designer, strategist and business consultant for some of the world’s largest companies.
As the former Head of Strategic Design and the lead designer of Genesis G80 at Hyundai Motor Company, Casey has led the company through a revolutionary change in design including creating the iconic Hyundai Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy, which helped to double its brand value to $14B in just five years.
Since leaving Hyundai in 2016, Casey has established a strategic design consultancy firm called Global Design Index (GDI), where he focuses his vision on electric vehicles and artificial intelligence, working with companies such as Google, Continental, Uber, Jaguar Land Rover and Neuron, a California based EV startup.
His seminar will share insights from understanding Korean corporation and its culture, future technology developments, sustainable energy, to his personal journey from the suburb of Ryde to the world.
By most people’s standards, Casey has forged a stunningly successful career, and yet when he is asked about what drives him, his response is remarkably humble.
“My life philosophy is ‘if today is the best day of my life, then my life is a failure’.”
