Breakfast Roundtable with Australia’s Ambassador for the Environment

On Tuesday 19 March, AustCham Korea’s Energy & Resources Sub-Committee hosted a breakfast roundtable with Australia’s Ambassador for the Environment, Mr Patrick Suckling.

Hosted at AustCham’s Silver Sponsor venue, Millennium Seoul Hilton, the Ambassador briefed roundtable attendees on Australia’s economic diplomacy, climate change action and emissions reduction agendas. During the discussion, the Energy & Resource Sub-Committee representatives updated the Ambassador on current renewable energy initiatives in Korea and possible opportunities for further engagement between Australia and Korea in the renewable energy and hydrogen sectors.

AustCham Korea would like to thank the Ambassador, Mr Patrick Suckling and representatives from the Australian Embassy, AustCham’s Energy & Resource Sub-Committee, Macquarie, Woodside and ReClean Holdings for their time and participation.

Mr Suckling is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), most recently serving as Australia’s High Commissioner in New Delhi. He was previously posted overseas as Counsellor at the Australian Embassy in Washington.

He is responsible for promoting and protecting Australia’s national interests on global environmental issues, including through leading Australia’s negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
