The annual and highly anticipated Austcham Chairman’s Night, “Dancing Under the Stars” was held at Cube Agora, Gangnam on Friday September 21. The charitable event saw 7 amateur dancers and their trainerspractice for 8 weeks to compete on the night for the Dancing Under the Stars title, which was chosen by guests and a judging panel. Over 100 Austcham Korea members and guests attended the dinner, also enjoying wine donated by Peiroth. Competition was friendly but intense and on the night Charlotte Kirkcaldie claimed the title for her performance of a Jive to ‘The Boy Does Nothing’.
Prior the competition getting underway, guests had the chance to strut their stuff on stage in a group class and following the competition Chris and Kimberly Lowe gave us special performance, even squeezing in some Gangnam Style along the way. Guests were also treated to an exciting display swordplay by Kendo practitioners.
Generous sponsors kindly donated a raft of fabulous gifts raffle, ranging from luxury car test drives, overnight stays and champagne, to dinners and premium luggage. All proceeds from the night including the raffle went to the Jeon Jin Sang Medical Clinic and Hospice in Shi-Heung, Seoul).
Austcham would like to extend special thanks to the Dancers and their professional partners Sunny Kim and Tae-Young Ahn, Chris and Kimberly Lowe, our judges John Walker, Charlie Kim and Brendan Berne, tireless planners Harry Lee & Diana Underwood, plus Austrade, The Australian Embassy and our sponsors for their support.
